The 15^th of December 2003 the Federation of Breast Cancer was founded, bringing together different types of breast cancer organizations (associations, foundations....) The name of the writer “Montserrat Roig”, who died of cancer, was added shortly afterwards, with the permission of her family. The objectives of this foundation are: provide information and training about breast cancer to women in general and especially women in disadvantaged socio economic situations, and joint fund raising activities to finance the activities the group has decided on.

This federation, with its by laws, has been inscribed in the official register of the Department of Law and Corporations of the Governement of Catalonia
